An 11-year-old-girl has been hit by a vehicle at about 8.45am this morning.  Orana Mid-Western police said the female driver of the Kia Rio vehicle was heading East on Baird street when the young girl ran out in front of the vehicle on her way to school and impacted with the vehicle. The girl has suffered some leg injuries which police believe at this stage to be abrasions on her leg and lacerations to her head. NSW paramedics attended the scene and treated the girl, and she was transported to Dubbo Base Hospital for further assessment.  Police have said her injuries were not being treated as serious. Police are investigating the circumstances around the incident.  Orana Mid-Western Police District Inspector Keith Ridley has issued a message about road safety in school zones during school hours and drivers should be keeping a look out for young children running out between cars.  “Drivers should always be aware and drive appropriately to the road conditions, especially in school zones.  “Thankfully the young girl seems to be okay in terms of any serious injury,” he said.   ALSO MAKING NEWS:
