Exclusively catering to interstate Schoolies, Schoolies Nation will be held during week two of Schoolies on December 4 and 5 and will feature performances from some of the world’s biggest DJ names including Illy, the Stafford Brothers, Bombs Away, Twins, Rave Radio, Some Blond DJ and more.
CEO of Schoolies.com Matt Lloyd said ticket sales to the highly anticipated Schoolies festival were nearing 5000 and were expected to sell out well in advance.
“Many of the acts performing on the day are local Australian DJs and producers who have skyrocketed to international fame and are being nominated for awards in both Australia and internationally,” he said.
“It’s really great to see so much support from the interstate school leavers who finally have their own festival to look forward to and we’re really fortunate to have so many big names performing at the one event over the two nights.
“Illy, our headlining act for the event, has recently been nominated for an Aria for Best Urban Album and is extremely popular amongst students aged 17 to 18.
“Gold Coast DJ duos the Stafford Brothers and Rave Radio will also be performing at the festival and were voted the two best DJs in Queensland at the 2013 inthemix Awards.
“Up and coming Melbourne star Some Blonde DJ is another highly anticipated act who has driven ticket sales.”
Mr Lloyd said the Gold Coast was traditionally quieter in week two of the iconic end-of-year celebration due to the lack of entertainment and events organised for interstate Schoolies.
“The State Government infrastructure only supports week one of Schoolies so we’re really pleased to be turning things around and providing a huge drawcard for southern students,” he said.
“The event also has the potential to bring millions of dollars of extra economic benefit to the Gold Coast and set a new standard for next year’s interstate Schoolies.
“Schoolies Nation is a landmark event not to be missed and we’re urging all interstate Schoolies to get in fast and snap up their ticket to avoid disappointment.”
As the central booking site for Schoolies, Schoolies.com has secured accommodation for well over 500,000 customers since its inception in the 1980s and remains the leading information source for everything Schoolies related.
