With just three rounds left and a maximum of six points that any team can score, each and every game has a bearing on the outcome.
Leaders are Bogan Bunkers 23 points, Aussie Hotel and Team Elite are equal second on 20 points, Dunlop Devils and Divas and Neil Earthmoving are together on 19 points and next best is Kevin Martin Plumbing with 17 points.
The best team of round 14 was Riverside Van Park. With another 50 points game they will be a thorn in the side for any of the leading teams that have to play them over the next three weeks.
Stroke was Saturday’s game, not everyone’s favourite.
Tex loves it and was a shade too good for the other eight players with 66 nett. He is one player who birdies the 18th quite often which he did again on Saturday.
Andy Lane just faded away slightly on the way home with a few double bogeys.
Chook Hawley was in the same boat as Andy with doubles on the front and back nines and still finished with 69 nett, one behind Andy’s 68 nett.
Those three players were in the last group and naturally won the four nearest the pins.
Adi Spicer teamed up with Boots Holmes and they had a narrow win in Sundays ambrose successive birdies on the 16th and 17th then a chip in by
Adi on the 18th gave them 29.5 nett. Rex Vane and Mick Beetson just missed with 30.37 nett, all of their good golf including a birdie on the 14th was bought undone by a lousy 7 along the river hole, Tony Lewis and Andy Lane had a fair score with 31 nett. Pin winners were Tex again and Mick Beetson. Point score has Boots leading with 22 points over Rex with 19 points.
Badge draw is back to $200 and the putting comp is worth heaps more.
Shot of the week was Mimo’s birdie on the 10th, holed her 3rd shot from the 150 metre mark with her favourite 3 wood.
