A great crowd attended the 2015 Nyngan Show and comments from various patrons proclaimed it one of the best shows in recent years with lots to do and see, congratulations to all concerned. Special mention to all the sponsors involved, without their support it would be a very dull show.

Sam Bailey and his wife Jenny were guests of the show and officially opened the show on Monday afternoon. Sam explained a little of his story, about his dream to be a farmer at Croppa Creek, his appearance on Australian Story, overcoming obstacles placed in his way and on being an inspiration for many. Doug Smith was very pleased to accept a life membership of the show for a lifetime of contributions and recalled his experience with the rodeo and thanked Rodney Robb for nominating him.
The grand parade was led by the high school band. They were followed by a parade of military vehicles and servicemen and women as part of the 100-year remembrance of Gallipoli. Jingles the clown, junior paraders with their cattle, animals from the animal nursery and several horses paraded including the Supreme Hack which was sashed by patron and sash donor Mary Dutton.
The rodeo on Sunday evening drew a huge crowd. The rodeo is a great credit to life member Rodney Robb and his handy stewards and assistants. They deserve full credit and hearty thanks, a world champion rider thrilled the crowd at his last event before leaving for the world championships in Canada next month.
Champions in the wool pavilion included the Weston family with champion district exhibits, the MacKillops with the best commercial fleece fresh off the sheep, and Mullengudgery scooped the stud section. Special mention of Jeff Larsen as guest steward exhibiting his final beautiful Windella fleeces after two generations and probably more than 50 years of show competition beginning in the 1950s.
The Wye Pavilion looked amazing with the children’s section in particular looking lovely and a very encouraging sign for pavilion exhibitors in the future.
Lastly congratulations to a lucky Brad MacDougall for winning the show raffle.
