“The NSW agricultural industry is one of the state’s highest risk industries, so it is important to provide skills and information on the risks and safety issues associated with working on farms,” WorkCover’s Dubbo District Coordinator, Mark Smith said.
“Farm safety is a priority as many farm roles involve working in remote or isolated areas away from emergency assistance and first aid. Events like the Nyngan Ag Expo are a chance for farmers, farm families and farm workers to get practical advice and information on current safety practices.
“Workcover is working with farmers across the state to improve the health and safety on farms right now and for the next generation of farmers.”
WorkCover will have a team of experts at the Nyngan Ag Expo to answer questions on farm safety practices and offer practical safety solutions to reduce the risk of injury on farms.
The day is a chance for farmers and farm workers to engage with industry experts on general farm safety.
