Stuart Campbell Hall, 43, was found guilty of a series of charges laid by police in January 2016 relating to rural crime on his property.
Hall was sentenced to 300 community service hours, a fine of $400 and a fine of $2200.
The charge of destroying or damaging property was a a result of Hall shooting and killing two dogs which did not belong to him.
Hall pleaded guilty to the charges at Nyngan local court earlier this month.
His defence lawyer said Hall regrets killing the dogs.
“The animals were wearing chest plates and he considered them dangers. Mr Hall admits he shot them out of frustration. He admits if he could go back he wouldn’t have done it,” the lawyer said in the Nyngan Courthouse.
Hall was charged with the offences in January this year when he spotted an unfamiliar utility vehicle on his property, north east of Nyngan.
Hall approached the vehicle and confronted the three young men inside with his father Dennis Hall. An argument took place and a shot was fired.
Hall and Mr Hall went back to the homestead on his property it was here the dogs were shot by Hall.
