Still soaring on a huge premiership win during their 60th year, the Bulls have named a new coach, a semi-new executive committee and have some exciting new plans this season.
The two major appointments are coach Tony Beetson replacing Rob Kennedy and club president Greg Moody replacing Bruce Cleaver.
The incoming president is excited for the season ahead.
“The Bogan Bulls Rugby Club have appointed Tony Beetson as first grade coach for the 2017 Western Plains season,” he said.
“Tony brings a wealth of rugby experience to an already successful playing group. He continues a strong Beetson involvement in Nyngan sport and the family’s pro-Nyngan traditions are already evident in Tony’s passion for the job.”
Mr Moody said the last year’s premiership winning coach Rob Kennedy is unavailable due to family commitments.
“We have an energetic committee for this year and virtually all the 2016 side are back on deck and we have a bright future ahead as majority of the squad are under 25,” he said.
“Goal kicking winger Scotty Brown is unfortunately moving to Bourke whilst flyhalf Andrew Nicholson’s knee injury will keep him sidelined for most of the season. The only other injury is centre Dom Kennedy’s shoulder problems, but his presence around the other players is a great motivational boost.”
