Bogan Shire Council and the local police have agreed to a joint initiative to actively promote the “Dob in a Dealer” campaign across the region over the next month.

The Dob in a Dealer campaign was launched in NSW 2015 in an attempt to curb the use of the drug Ice.
The Bogan Shire campaign will run for a month.
The campaign will involve the active promotion of the campaign to encourage members of the public to report suspected drug dealers and clandestine laboratories to Crime Stoppers.
In addition locked boxes will be placed in the Nyngan library and at the Council administration office for people to anonymously report any suspicious behaviour.
Sergeant Tony Wood said Crime Stoppers accepted both phone calls and online reports from the public and was the most effective way for the public to report activity.
“We are always interested in hearing from the public whether it be through Crime Stoppers or directly to us at the local station,” he said.
“Whilst the police have had recent success in arresting and charging two local drug dealers, it is important we have the support of the community to continue this ongoing campaign.”
Bogan Shire Mayor Ray Donald encouraged people to report any suspicious activity, saying the whole community needed to play a role in tackling drugs.
“Amphetamines destroy families,” he said.
“We all have a responsibility to address it and dob in a dealer”.
