In her 84 years Glad has been involved with countless projects. She has been an active member of the Uniting Church for the past 60 years, and has been involved with the Nyngan Girl Guides since 1959.
Glad is a life member of the NSW Netball Association, has spend 18 years as a member of the Nyngan CWA and is activley involved as a volunteer with the Nyngan museum on a weekly basis.
Glad has been the organiser of the 'Back to Nyngan' reunions since 1956 and was the co-author of the book Life Along the Railways west of Nevertire.
Young Citizen of the Year - Katie White
This year Katie was awarded Young Citizen of the Year for her service as coordinator of the Nyngan Community Hub.
Katie supports a number of events held by other services including many school events, and volulnteers for the Western Sudio of Performing Arts.
Katie embodies a strong sense of community and a desire to make the Bogan shire a better place.
Sportsperson of the Year - Jack Hargreaves
Sportsperson of the Year was awarded to Jack Hargreaves for his contribution to rowing.
In 2017 Jack was selected for the Rowing Australia team, where the Men’s Four won gold and were crowned World Champions at the World Champions in Florida.
This was the first time that Australia has won the event in 26 years.
Junior Sportsperson of the Year - Maddison Harley
Junior Sportsperson of the Year was awarded to Maddison Harley for her outstanding sporting achievements in equestrian.
Throughout 2017 Maddison has represented Nyngan at a number of high level equestrial competitions.
She qualified for and competed in the Juniors Showjumping, was placed 4th at the Sydney Royal Easter Show against some of Australia's best junior showjumpers.
Maddison was also placed 11th in the Australian Showjumping Championships junior final in Melbourne and won the NSW Country Championships junior final.
Sports Team of the Year - Nyngan Bowling Club State Pennant Team
This year the Nyngan Bowling Club State Pennant Team were awarded the Sports Team of the Year award for their exceptional sporting achievements.
The team fundraised their way to the state finals of lawn bowls. The team won Zone 4, District and then went on to win the state final of Grade 4 lawn bowls.
Community Event of the Year - St Joseph's School P&F Colour Run
This year St Joseph's School P&F Colour Run were recipients of the Community Event of the Year award.
St Joseph's School P&F Colour Run were awarded Community Event of the Year for their incredible efforts running Nyngan's first colour run which promoted mental and physical health and raised money for the school.

Last year, four people were recognised as Bogan Shire Council’s citizens of the year: Haylee Finn, Noelene Walsh, Rowen Cleaver and Stacey Korn.
Ellie Smith and Rachel Fitzalan were named young citizens of the year, while Harry Blake, Sonny Knight, Alannah Ryan and Mason Rope were crowned junior sportspeople of the year.
Sportsteams of the year were Bogan Bulls first XV, Junior Tigers under 10s Rugby League and Junior Tigers under 11s netball.
Community event of the year was shared between Duck Creek Races, The Garden Club Christmas Markets and Carols and Nyngan Ag Expo.
