Nyngan schools and community members gathered at the Cobar Street and Tabratong Street intersection in front of the council building for the ceremony.
Local Aboriginal dancers then showcased dances, Hermidale Public students made the welcome to country and guests were treated to a smoking ceremony.

NAIDOC (The National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee) Week is an annual celebration of the histories, rich cultures, outstanding achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year’s theme is ‘Becasue of her, we can’, which celebrates the invaluable and ongoing contributions of Indigenous women.
