NSW Police had released an appeal for public assistance on Saturday for any information about the 61-year-old, who suffers from a medial condition.
They reissued the appeal on Sunday as concern mounted and officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District and PolAir, with assistance from SES personnel, scoured Dungog, in the NSW Hunter region, and the surrounding areas.
The police dog unit was called in Monday to assist the search, which ended when PD Marco found the man under thick vegetation at the bottom of a steep gully.
The man treated by emergency services before being taken to Dungog Hospital.
There’s no surprise that a post on the NSW Police Force Facebook page has received an outpouring of support for Marco, after the man was found.
