Motorists will be able to enjoy a smoother ride on the Mitchell Highway east of Nyngan with upgrade work now complete.
The $1.9 million project included widening, strengthening and overlaying a three-kilometre section of road to provide an improved surface, improve safety and reduce future maintenance costs.

“I am delighted the project has been delivered on time and within budget, providing motorists on the Mitchell Highway a smoother, more reliable drive,” Member for Dubbo Tory Grant said.
“The completion of the project means improved safety for all road users and increased efficiency for the road network,” he said.
The project is open to traffic, with line marking expected to be completed this week.
Bogan Shire Council carried out the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services.
During the upgrade work, approximately 40 people worked on the project at various times.
