While Australia Day means different things to different people, it is a day that welcomes everyone to reflect on their Australian experience.
Bogan Shire Mayor Ray Donald is encouraging locals and new community members to come and join in on the celebrations.

“We give a very warm welcome to any new families that have come to town in the last 12 months,” Cr Donald said.
“It’s a perfect opportunity to meet everyone, and ensure they are welcomed into a very friendly town.”
This year residents will have the opportunity to meet 2019 Australia Day ambassador, and passionate golfer, Gary ‘Smokey’ Dawson.
Cr Donald also said there will be copies of the petition to reduce train speed and increase rail safety for members of the community to sign.
“It’s an opportunity to ask for people’s support on council’s efforts to have trains going through town restricted up to a 40 km/h speed limit, and to have flashing lights installed at the Hoskins Street railway crossing,” he said.
The Bogan Shire Council will celebrate Australia Day from 8am at the Nyngan Town Hall.
The morning will commence with a free barbecue breakfast, followed by the awards presentation at 9am.
There will be free entry into the Nyngan Pool on the day.
