Our great little town matches the cultural diversity of the nation, with many global citizens residing and contributing to the fabric of our home.
The theme of 2019 is 'Everyone Belongs', which is the message organisers of this year’s celebration wanted to ensure.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Nyngan’s schools, the Community Hub, the Bogan Shire Council, Nyngan Local Aboriginal Land Council and community partners are together coordinating a day where each member of the Bogan Shire can come and grow their understanding, engage in activities that allow us to look through the eyes of many cultures and celebrate as one community.
As the Seekers said in their song I am Australian, “We are one but we are many, and from all the lands on earth we come”.
Larkin Oval will be a sea of inclusion, with 20 different cultures and countries being celebrated.
The initiative of the organisers is to have school students, families, school staff and community groups share displays and traditional activities of the many cultures, allowing everyone to enjoy unity and understanding of what makes us all great.
The organisers hope to create an atmosphere of equality and move our community forward for positive change and understanding.
The day will conclude with a free barbecue on offer to all who come along and celebrate.
Starting at 10am and concluding by 1pm, this will be an great day where everyone belongs.
