Workplaces and organisations around the town got all dressed up wearing blue or displaying information to help break down the stigma associated with mental health.
Over 100 community members and travellers were at Davidson Park on August 27 for a free community barbecue hosted by service providers in Nyngan to help break down the stigma of mental health.
"It was good to see so many people of different ages come along to talk about and be willing to learn about mental health," Community Hub's Katie White said.
"We're very happy with how well the event was attended."
The event organisers said the day not only promotes positive conversations around mental health, but helped people share their own experiences.
"There's a lot of stigma around mental health and it is just as important as our physical health," Ms White said.
"Often people can be misdiagnosed or mistreated because of mental health and the more we understand the better it is for our community."
Ms White thanked all the services who came and supported on the day including Mission Australia, CatholicCare, Ability Links, NSW Ambulance, Bogan Shire Council, the Dubbo AMS and Khans IGA who donated items for the barbecue. .
"Again thank you to the businesses and organisations in town who couldn't make it but supported the day by wearing blue or displaying information," she said.
