Bogan Shire mayor Ray Donald said the visit to the shire "went off well".

"I think she had a pretty full day," he said.

In the morning Ms Beazley along with her husband Dennis Wilson met with members of the Nyngan Local Aboriginal Land Council where they received a a traditional welcome dance preformed by local Aboriginal school students, as well as Acknowledgement to Country in language.

Afterwards, the Governor and Mr Wilson visited the Nyngan 'Day for Girls' Community Sewing Bee, at the Nyngan Baptist Fellowship Hall.

Later in the morning, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson hosted a community morning tea, in Davidson Park, where she mingled with members of the community.

In the afternoon the Governor, as Patron, and Mr Wilson attended lunch with members of the Nyngan Country Women's Association, at the Nyngan Country Women's Association Hall.

Later in the afternoon, Her Excellency and Mr Wilson toured the Nyngan Museum and attended an afternoon tea with Visitor Information Centre staff, members of the Museum committee, and ermergency services volunteers and representatives.

Councillor Donald said she spent her last half hour in town speaking with Rural Financial Councillor Victoria Boag about the effects of the drought on small businesses and rural people.

"I think she's very well aware of the stress on people at the moment from the drought, particularly families and the shortage of water as it approaches a crisis situation for a lot of places," Cr Donald said.

"She had been to Coabr the day before and made comment about how dry it was and how the country looked terribly parched from the air."

Councillor Donald welcomed Ms Beazley's visit, which provided a boost to the community's morale.

"As we battle through this situation the calendar has high points with special visits and hers is very much one of those," he said.

"She met a lot of the school kids as well ... I think that was the best part of her visit when she mingled with everyone in the park for morning tea."
