A fun day was held at O'Riley Park for National Children's Week. The week is held at the end of October. It celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood.
In Nyngan, it was recognised with a gathering in the park, attended by services such as Barnardos Australia, Mission Australia and Catholic Care.

Katie White said there was face painting and story time, as well as arts and craft and sporting activities.
Not only did local students take part in the day, Ms White said members of the community also joined in. Grandparents, parents and carers all bought their young people to join in the fun.
"It was a way for them to learn about the services available but also just a day to celebrate our children," Ms White said.
She said it was a fun day for the kids, who often had a lot of stress in their lives.
"But this was a fun day out of school, a chance for them to be out in the community and interacting with different people," Ms White said.
Despite some horrible weather, she said it was a great day.
Children's Week is celebrated in Nyngan every year.
