Did you know, it was a newspaper editor who penned that epigram: Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr of Le Figaro, France in the mid-1800s. He was speaking to the political and social climate of his era, but it was such a clear-eyed and real insight, it's stood the test of time.

So too has the Nyngan Observer stood the test of time since its first edition in 1883. The times keep changing and keep testing us, so our decision to vacate the Pangee Street office is a considered business case.

However, let's be clear: we're still here.

From Monday, November 4, we are adopting a mobile working model for our local sales representative and news reporter alike. This means Zack Marlan and Dawn Hopwood (pictured) will be working in and about the town and on the road to produce your Observer.

In short, our business data shows that advertisers and readers have moved with the times, and are increasingly using mobile and online technologies to reach us, do business, write letters and engage. Those who drop into our shopfront are few and far between.

For those who have a story to tell can still submit their material by hand at the Bogan Shire Council office which will be collected by our journalist.

We ask that any material you wish to appear in the Wednesday edition be submitted before 12pm on Monday.
