A man caught urinating on Sydney's Anzac Memorial tried to convince police it was vomit before swearing at them.

Milad Taheri Ghareht Apeh was caught in the act about 11pm on December 19 by the memorial's security guard, and on CCTV, police facts state.
Apeh was convicted in his absence and fined $800 for committing an offensive act at a war memorial after he failed to show up at the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.
The police facts say the 33-year-old told the security guard he did not realise he'd been relieving himself on a memorial. But when police arrived he claimed the puddle was "yellow stuff" he had vomited.
When asked by police if he had any prior criminal history, Apeh told them to "piss off" and "f*** off".
