Residents of the Henry Kendall Gardens Retirement Village in Wyoming have raised $5169, to purchase vouchers from businesses in Nyngan for the local farming community.
The donation was made earlier this month and vouchers were sourced from a variety of Nyngan businesses.
The Bogan Shire Council said despite recent rainfall in the district, the effects of the drought will be felt for some time until local farmers are in a position to grow crops and replenish livestock.
In 2019 according to the Bureau of Meteorology records show Nyngan had the lowest total rainfall in a century with just 119 millimetres.
"The generous donation by the Henry Kendall Gardens residents will be gratefully received," the Bogan Shire Council said.
The generosity follows other recent donations made by various organisations and groups before Christmas to the people of the Bogan Shire.
