Can Assist - formerly known as the Cancer Patients Assistance Fund - began in 1955 by a group of determined women who were nurses, social workers and doctors wives.
Together they had a vision to provide support for cancer patients as they accessed treatments to help families in financial distress as a result of their diagnosis.
