About 85 Ladies and gentlemen wore their Saturday best and enjoyed a lunch prepared by the Cockys Wife under a marquee at Larkin Oval to celebrate the end of a fantastic football season.
Beer and champagne was flowing freely as the Club’s most dedicated and talented were awarded in the afternoon.
Presentations kicked off with the club welcoming their newest Life Member, Ange Kennedy.
Ms Kennedy is the second female Life Member welcomed into the Bulls club and has been an integral figure in building the club house and in general workings and support of the club.
“I’d like to congratulate Ange for this special achievement, it’s very well deserved,” coach Skimmer George said at the presentation.
This year Shaun Hooper was bought on to support the club as fitness coach, and spent time coaching the team when Coach George was absent.
Hooper thanked the club and committee for welcoming him on board and into the club and detailed the club’s welcoming nature.
“I’d like to congratulate the whole club and the committee for the way they run the club,” Hooper praised.
“You come in and you stand on the sideline here … and you are made to feel welcome.
“Keep that up as a club, you guys have got something really special going on here because you make people feel welcome,” he said.
Hooper went on to discuss the club’s season and praised their youth and dedication, and encouraged their bright football future ahead.
“If you can stick together, this young group you’ve got together now with the fitness you had this year, and playing above your weight … You blokes have a lot of future here and there’s going to be a lot of success here,” he said.
“The one thing that sticks in my mind about this year we got out on the training pack and I’d give you guys a drill and you wouldn’t think about it. You would rip in to it one hundred and ten per cent and that’s why you’re so successful.
“You’re young and youthful and your enthusiasm is outstanding.
“Just keep going the way your going guys,” he said.
Coach George thanked the committee for the work they have done especially the work of Sophie Greig, Katie Moody, Hayley Whittaker and Deb Currans.
