Sponsored by past president Peter Murphy the day was a drop-off ambrose.
Winning team member Pat Walsh said the crucial part of the day was “when Bugman had to take the last two drives off his allocated six on the 17th and 18th hole.”
“They managed to par both and finished with 60-33 nett,” Walsh said.
The winners also had a shot to remember on the day with Keating using a seven-iron from under and behind a tree.
“It was 160 yards away and he plonked it on the green. Plus there were some longish putts by Buggy and myself as well,” Walsh said.
Tristan and Al Forno, Mick Gibson and Ali Morris took out the runners-up with 60.5 nett after crashing with bogies on the 13th and 18th holes, while birdies on the 11th and 14th holes were some consolation.
Taking up third place was Anthony RC and Tim and Janine Tulenew who finished with 60.67 nett.
“Overall there was not much between the winning teams,” Walsh said.
Pin winners were Dorro, Dave Bartley, Andy Lane, Dave Martin and a double to Tex.
“Thanks again to Pete for a very challenging game.”
